An artist recognized for her skill and strong determination, Amery Bohling exhibits a drive to excel in all aspects of work. Naturally drawn to the art world and the adventure of the great outdoors, Bohling pursues the fine art of landscape painting, preferring remote, rugged and often complex terrains for her subjects. She obtained a fine arts degree from University of Arizona, which included a year abroad at the Marchutz School of Art in Aix en Provence, France. Intending to receive a more formal art education while in France, she studied plein air landscape under the tradition of the French impressionists. In addition, Bohling studied at the Scottsdale Artists School where she received a strong foundation from skilled instructors.
In April 2006, Bohling received California Art Club's 95th Annual Gold Medal Show Emerging Artist Award sponsored by American Artist Magazine. She is featured as a rising young star in American Artists June 2006 issue. She is also, featured in American Art Collector's February 2006 issue on Leading Ladies. In September of 2002, Bohling is recognized in Southwest Art Magazine's '21 artists under 31' with promising careers and again in a Sept. 2004 follow-up article.
Bohling participates in art exhibitions across the country including a recent exhibition on the Grand Canyon at the Tucson Art Museum, AZ; California Art Club's Gold Medal Exhibitions in Pasadena, CA; Bennington Center for the Arts, VT; the Richard Schmidt Art Auction in CO; the Musee Granet in the south of France, and Plein Air Festivals.
In addition to the California Art Club and American Artist Magazine's Emerging Artist Award, Bohling received second place at San Luis Obispo's first Plein Air Painting Festival and the Stanley R and Robert E Wright Foundation for the Arts Scholarship.
Bohling is involved in several prominent art clubs including a mentor membership with the California Art Club (CAC), and artist memberships in the Tucson Plein Air Painter's Society, Oil Painters of America and Landscape Artists International.
